TECNOLOGY
The air filters on the one hand must guarantee good air passage, on the other they must provide filtration to prevent significant particles from ending up in the cylinders. The two operations are antagonistic to each other, and the air filter will be better when it optimizes these functions. Series cars are normally equipped with paper filters, while for sports filters the usual solution was to use cotton filters soaked in oil. Sprint Filter, with the adoption of polyester filter fabric, takes a leap forward and makes all previous systems obsolete
The polyester fabric is extremely permeable and solid, not influenced either by folding during construction or by the pressure difference created during operation, or even by maintenance. The cotton filter, on the other hand, has a texture dependent on the overlap and the number of layers used; furthermore it tends to deform during the phases described above: consequently it will be arranged in areas with high filtration values and others with mediocre values.
Main features:
-Filtration and air passage value constant over time.
-As regards efficiency, Sprint Filter polyester filters retain:
1) 93.13% of 100 µ particles. (P08)
2) 91.8% of the 37 µ particles. (P037)
3) 95.22% of the 100 µ particles. (P08f1-85)
-Compared to 76.42% for the four-layer oiled cotton filter.
-Construction of the support in a single material, to avoid unwanted detachments between different materials.
This solution represents a further step forward for Sprint Filter air filters which once again separate themselves from the competition due to the use of innovative technologies. In fact, after the use of the polyester filter element, Sprint Filter is the first company in the world in this market to use the steel mesh with epoxy painting to support the filter membrane. The advantages are many: the strength of the wire allows the net to be woven with larger meshes (the free surface in fact goes from 66% to 80%) and to create a filter with superior structural characteristics.
No increase in weight is caused by the use of steel compared to light alloy: in addition to the wider weave, the diameter of the wire used is smaller than the previous structure, more than compensating for the greater specific weight. Lastly, the look of the filters is also improved: there is less polyurethane leakage on the filter map (orange for the P08, white for the P037 and black for the P08F1-85) which is much more defined.
